Casserole from leftover porridge. Millet porridge casserole

Rinse half a glass of millet well. Pour 350 ml of cold water over the millet, after the water boils, cook the porridge over low heat under the lid, stirring occasionally. I cooked for about 20 minutes, the water had completely evaporated, and the millet was completely cooked. Millet porridge should turn out crumbly. To prepare the casserole you need 1 cup of ready-made porridge.

Cool the porridge slightly. In a convenient mixing bowl, combine the yolks, sugar and vanilla sugar.

Beat the yolks with sugar using a mixer for 5 minutes.

Then add sour cream and beat again until smooth.

Combine the finished mass with millet porridge.

Mix the mass thoroughly.

I used portioned baking dishes. Lightly grease the molds with butter. Divide the mixture into molds. You can make a casserole from millet porridge in a large form, and then cut it into pieces.

Bake the millet porridge casserole in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 35 minutes. The casserole will be covered with a beautiful and appetizing crust.

Serve the finished millet porridge casserole warm, garnished with berries or fruits.

Bon appetit!

Often, when preparing porridge, we slightly miscalculate the amount of cereal or the appetite of our family. Where to put the uneaten? You can make a good healthy casserole from leftover porridge. A casserole made from yesterday's porridge with cottage cheese and fruit will disappear from the table in the blink of an eye.

For the casserole, we will need a pack of cottage cheese, one egg and any tender fruits or berries available at home. Strawberries, apricots, plums, bananas, and very ripe pears are suitable. In winter, you can use jam or canned fruit.

This casserole can be prepared from any fairly thick porridge. I have leftover oatmeal porridge, so today I am making oatmeal porridge casserole.

Add cottage cheese to the remaining porridge. Let's knead everything thoroughly. I usually do this with a simple mashed potato masher. Porridge for casserole should not be too liquid. If the porridge is a bit runny, it is preferable to use drier cottage cheese. If you want to get a more uniform consistency, you can use a blender.

Break an egg into the mixture, add a heaping tablespoon of sugar and a pinch of salt. I gave an approximate amount of sugar, since there are many nuances here: how sweet the porridge itself was and what we use as filling. You can get confused and beat the eggs with sugar first, so the casserole will be a little more tender.

Mix everything thoroughly.

Cut fruits or berries into pieces.

Place half of the prepared mixture in a greased baking dish.

Now lay out a layer of chopped fruits or berries.

Cover the top of the filling with the second half of the mixture. The oatmeal casserole is almost ready, all that remains is to bake it. Bake in the oven or air fryer for 20-30 minutes at 200 degrees. If cooking in an air fryer, use the lower rack and low speed.

It would be a shame to throw them away - after all, they are healthy and wholesome food. Therefore, they can be processed into a dish such as millet porridge casserole.

By the way, such dishes are given to children in kindergarten. You can feed this dish to children up to one year old. You can easily make a casserole like in kindergarten at home. The main thing is to choose an interesting recipe.

What is the benefit of such a dish?

Millet porridge casserole is very healthy. Experts say that it contains a large amount of vitamins - these include group B, A, PP. The starch it contains also gives it particular benefit. The substances included in such a dish make it possible to provide a person with everything necessary, because millet contains potassium and magnesium, as well as iron, phosphorus and fluorine.

If you consider that when preparing a casserole, a number of useful ingredients are additionally added, such as cottage cheese, raisins, etc., the dish becomes even more healthy.

Casserole cooking options

One of the options is a cottage cheese casserole made from millet. To prepare it you will need:

  • ready-made millet porridge;
  • cottage cheese;
  • chicken eggs;
  • powdered sugar (it is better to take it so that there is no nasty grinding of sugar on your teeth);
  • grated lemon peel;
  • a mixture of nuts, crushed into small particles;
  • raisin;
  • breadcrumbs;
  • butter.

The casserole with the addition of cottage cheese is prepared quite quickly and is very similar in taste to the one given to children in kindergarten. It is enough to mix everything well and grind until smooth. Especially if you are going to give it to a baby under one year old. Cottage cheese casserole based on millet porridge is good for everyone to eat to strengthen teeth and bones.

Place the prepared mass in a mold, greased with butter and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Bake the dish in the oven until an appetizing crust appears. It is very tasty to eat this dish with sour cream.

Another recipe is krupennik. Millet porridge casserole can be quite simple in its ingredients. The recipe is as easy as possible and includes the following list of products:

  • a glass of millet;
  • 2.5 glasses of water;
  • a pair of eggs;
  • butter - 50 g;
  • sour cream - 0.5 cups;
  • sugar.

If you wish, you can add cottage cheese to it. Then you will get an even more interesting product. Cook the crumbly porridge, wait for it to cool, then add eggs and sugar to it, add sour cream. If you are going to make the casserole also with cottage cheese, add cottage cheese. Dose the amount of sugar yourself. But remember that for children, especially under the age of one year, make the casserole as minimally sweet as possible. This recipe is often used to serve in kindergarten. Serve with sour cream. But, as an option, you can add jam, condensed milk, etc. Bake the krupennik in the oven, having first placed it tightly in the mold.
A casserole like in kindergarten for children does not have to be cottage cheese. Its recipe is also quite simple, but instead of cottage cheese it contains raisins. For it you will need:

  • 1.5 glasses of milk;
  • half a glass of millet;
  • the same amount of raisins;
  • a pair of eggs;
  • sugar 2 tablespoons.

Cook the porridge with the addition of milk (in kindergarten, the recipe for children is sometimes changed and the porridge is not cooked with milk, especially if it is intended for allergy sufferers or babies under one year old). After you have cooled the porridge, beat it with eggs and sugar. Add raisins. Place everything in a special form and bake in the oven. This recipe can be supplemented with curd mass to get a more interesting taste.

Alternatively, you can make a casserole without cottage cheese, but with pumpkin.

Alternatively, you can make a casserole without cottage cheese, but with pumpkin. This is very interesting for children, because... They definitely don’t give this kind of thing in kindergarten. First, cook the porridge with pumpkin and cool it. Then add the egg and white from the second one. Sweeten with a pinch of sugar. Prepare the mold by greasing it with margarine and lay out one part of the resulting mixture. Top it with chopped prunes. Cover with remaining porridge. Grease the top of the casserole with the prepared mixture of sour cream and yolk. Place the pan in the oven and bake in the oven. Your indicator of readiness should be the appearance of a golden crust.

In kindergarten, children will not be offered this option, but at home you can try making cottage cheese casserole from millet porridge not in the oven, but in a slow cooker. The recipe is quite simple and variable. For preparation use:

  • millet;
  • milk;
  • sugar;
  • butter;
  • egg;
  • cottage cheese;
  • dried fruits.

The recipe for this cottage cheese casserole is very simple. And the resulting dish is no worse than in the oven - with the same beautiful, appetizing crust. Rinse the millet, pour boiling water over it for 5 minutes. Then drain the water and place the cereal in the multicooker bowl. Set the “Porridge” mode and cook the cereal for 50 minutes. After cooling it, put it in a bowl, add butter, cottage cheese and dried fruits. Mix everything very thoroughly. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with sugar and add them to the total mass. Grease the bowl again and put the whole mixture into it. Then set the baking mode. Cooking time takes about an hour on average. This casserole can be given to your child at home as a change from the food he is offered every day in kindergarten.
